Kingston East Neighbourhood Centre
This limited hours child care service operates from the Kingston East Neighbourhood Centre which provides family support, emergency relief, a service for homeless people and community development services.
Recurrent funding of $32,349 is provided to employ a part-time hub coordinator and for operating costs to enhance the coordination and integration of programs provided through the neighbourhood centre.
The centre is currently operating as a child care and family support hub with linkages across a range of programs. Kingston is an area of socio-economic disadvantage with limited options for families who do not have access to private transport. The neighbourhood centre is a key support service and community meeting place in Kingston.
