Sunnybank Hills - Kyabra Community Association

Kyabra Community Association Inc currently provides a range of support services through an integrated service delivery model. The agency covers the geographic area of Mt Gravatt to Calamvale (including Algester, Parkinson, Acacia Ridge and Coopers Plains). The components of this model currently include limited hours child care (Lucy's Place), disability support services, family/relationship education programs, supported accommodation services, a volunteer program, child protection service and a community development office.

Through this project, the agency is proposing further development and enhancement of the integrated service delivery model whilst also developing stronger linkages between child care and family support services, creating flexible child and family support responses in the local area of Algester and Parkinson, and the lower socio-economic areas of Acacia Ridge and Coopers Plains.

The project aims to co-ordinate and integrate responses for families and support and enhance the community's capacity to address their lack of child care options and activities.

Triennial funding of $75,634 is provided to employ a hub coordinator and non-recurrent funding of $45,618 is provided for the purchase of capital resources in order to respond to identified needs. These capital resources include a toy library, a vehicle, equipment, and refurbishment costs to build an office and adjunct care areas.
