Water subsidy
From 1 July 2008 eligible pensioners in the South-East Queensland water grid will receive a $40 rebate on their water bills for 2008–09. The rebate will increase to $70 in 2009–10 and to a maximum of $100 in 2010–11.
To be eligible for the rebate, you must be:
- a holder of a Queensland Pensioner Concession Card or a Queensland Repatriation Health Card — For All Conditions (Gold Card) — no other cards are acceptable when determining eligibility
- the owner or life tenant of the property which is your principal place of residence, and
- legally responsible for the payment of local government rates and charges levied on that property.
