Crisis accommodation for homeless families
New crisis/short-term accommodation and additional support services has been provided for homeless families. Families can:
- have their emergency accommodation and support needs met
- be better able to deal with issues that put them at risk of homelessness
- receive follow-up support
Services are located in Cairns, Townsville, Mount Isa, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
The Department of Housing provides properties for these initiatives under the Crisis Accommodation Program
The crisis accommodation services for homeless families are funded through the Supported Accommodation Assistance Program.
