The Department of Communities has ten Queensland regions which covers 74 local government areas.

Far North Queensland

The Far North Queensland region (PDF 218 kB) region has 18 local government areas:

Aurukun, Cairns, Cassowary Coast, Cook, Croydon, Etheridge, Hope Vale, Kowanyama, Lockhart River, Mapoon, Napranum, Northern Peninsula Area, Pormpuraaw, Tablelands, Torres, Torres Strait Island, Wujal Wujal and Yarrabah.

The region is serviced by offices located in Atherton, Cairns, Innisfail and Tablelands. For further information contact your nearest regional office.

North Queensland

The North Queensland region (PDF 218 kB) region consists of 15 local government areas:

Boulia, Burdekin, Burke, Carpentaria, Charters Towers, Cloncurry, Doomadgee, Flinders, Hinchinbrook, McKinlay, Mornington, Mount Isa, Palm Island, Richmond and Townsville.

The region is serviced by offices located in Mount Isa and Townsville. For further information contact your nearest regional office.

Mackay/Whitsunday

The Mackay/Whitsunday region (PDF 426 kB) region includes the following 3 local government areas:

Isaac, Mackay and Whitsunday.

There are two regional offices in Mackay who service the region.

Fitzroy/Central West Queensland

The Fitzroy/Central West Queensland region (PDF 242 kB) region has 11 local government areas:

Barcaldine, Barcoo, Blackall-Tambo,Central Highlands, Diamantina, Gladstone, Longreach, Northern Banana, Rockhampton, Winton and Woorabinda.

The region is serviced by offices located in Emerald, Gladstone, Longreach and Rockhampton. For further information contact your nearest regional office.

Darling Downs/South West Queensland

The Darling Downs and South West region (PDF 259 kB) region includes the following 11 local government areas:

Balonne, Bulloo, Dalby, Goondiwindi, Murweh, Paroo, Quilpie, Roma, Southern Banana, Southern Downs, Toowoomba.

The region is serviced by offices located in Charleville, Roma and Toowoomba. For further information contact your nearest regional office.

Wide Bay Burnett

The Wide Bay Burnett region (PDF 362 kB) region consists of 6 local government areas:

Bundaberg, Cherbourg, Fraser Coast, North Burnett, Northern Gympie and South Burnett.

Sunshine Coast

Moreton Bay, Northern Somerset, Southern Gympie and Sunshine Coast.

Moreton

The Moreton region (PDF 366 kB) region includes the following 5 local government areas:

Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Logan City, Scenic Rim and Southern Somerset.

Greater Brisbane

The Greater Brisbane region (PDF 305 kB) region has 3 local government areas:

Brisbane, Moreton Bay and Redland.

Gold Coast

The Gold Coast region (PDF 236 kB) region is equivalent to the Gold Coast City local government area. There are two regional offices on the Gold Coast who service this region.
