About funding and grants management
The department enables the delivery of innovative and quality community services by providing or funding services that support:
- children and families
- young people
- youth justice services
- seniors
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- community and individual support services
- community participation
- capable and sustainable communities
- easier access to government services and information.
Our services are delivered across the state through 10 regions, and 33 regional service centres.
Grants funding
The department provides grants to support initiatives such as Seniors Week, Youth Week, Domestic and Family Prevention month activities and the Multicultural Assistance Program.
As the lead agency for community services we also support communities to recover from disaster events such as flooding, equine influenza outbreak and storm damage.
Grants management
To make it easier, simpler and faster for non-government organisations to manage their grants, the Online Acquittal Support Information System (OASIS) is being made available. For those who do not have computer and internet access, a manual paper-based system will remain in place.
