Seniors Week 2010 funding
The Department of Communities invites community organisations throughout Queensland to apply for funding to support events and projects during Seniors Week 2010.
The funding is for projects that promote awareness of the contribution of seniors in Queensland and inform the community of services available. Seniors Week will be held from Saturday 14 to Sunday 22 August 2010.

Townsville Supervised Community Accommodation funding available
Non-government organisations are encouraged to apply for funding of $3 million over three years to establish and manage a supervised community accommodation service in Townsville from July 2010.
This service aims to provide accommodation and tailored transition support for young males exiting the Cleveland Youth Detention Centre who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Palm Island Women’s Shelter funding available
Non-government organisations are invited to apply for funding of $339,061 per annum for three years to deliver the Palm Island Women's Shelter from April 2010.
The shelter provides safe and secure short-term accommodation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness, with a priority to women and children escaping domestic and family violence.

Street to Home Initiative funding available
Non-government organisations are invited to apply for funding of $911,016 per year for three years to support and implement a Street to Home Initiative in Brisbane.
This initiative will support people who are sleeping rough or experiencing chronic homelessness to move into permanent, secure housing. Support will focus on achieving long-term lifestyle changes to enable engagement with the community, education or employment where applicable.

Cairns Diversionary Centre and Cell Visitor Service funding available
Non-government organisations are encouraged to apply for funding of $1.6 million per annum over three years to manage the Cairns Diversionary Centre and Cell Visitor Service.
The Diversionary Centre provides a safe, culturally appropriate place for people to sober up, and includes beds, laundry and hygiene facilities and meals. The Cell Visitor Service provides support to people in police custody to reduce the incidence of suicide, self injury and health impacts related to intoxication.

Cairns Integrated Crisis Accommodation Service funding available
Non-government are invited to apply for funding of $848,926 per annum over three years to manage the Integrated Crisis Accommodation program in the Cairns region.
Cairns Integrated Crisis Accommodation Service provides temporary overnight accommodation, an evening meal and breakfast and personal hygiene facilities for people 18 years and over who are homeless.

Enhancing Access Project Grants (Duke of Edinburgh Award)
Small grants are available to assist with licensed operator registration and activity costs for those who may otherwise not be able to participate in the Award.
