About the strategy
The Queensland Government is seeking your ideas and views to help us to develop a whole-of-government approach for the way we support seniors into the future. The strategy will identify priority areas for action, with an emphasis on making positive changes for seniors who are vulnerable, disadvantaged or socially isolated.
A discussion paper | has been released as the first stage in the development of the strategy. The paper provides information about the government's investment in services and the important contribution seniors make to our community.
The paper also includes questions that you can respond to and we welcome feedback on other areas you feel should be part of the strategy development.
Our aim is to ensure seniors feel safe, supported and have access to appropriate services. To achieve this, we are keen to explore ideas for working in partnership across government as well as with business and the community.
You can give your feedback online or by mail | .
The consultation closes on Friday 4 December 2009. The strategy and action plan for seniors is expected to be released in the first half of 2010.
