About Seniors Card for business
The Seniors Card and Seniors Business Discount Card scheme is a partnership between the Queensland Government and participating businesses to provide government concessions and business discounts to eligible Queenslanders.
All Queensland residents aged 60 and over are eligible for either a Seniors Business Discount Card or a Seniors Card.
- The Seniors Business Discount Card is available to Queenslanders aged 60 and over. This card gives access to discounts at participating businesses.
- The Seniors Card gives access to government concessions, as well as discounts at participating businesses. The Seniors Card is available to Queensland residents who are:
- aged over 65 and working less than 35 hours per week or
- aged 60 to 64, working less than 35 hours per week and holding a Commonwealth concession card.
There are currently more than 600,000 Seniors Card and Seniors Business Discount Card holders in Queensland, and over 2.3 million Seniors Card holders Australia-wide. These numbers are expected to increase significantly over the next decade.
Participating in the scheme and honouring both these cards will help you to tap into this growing seniors market.
Because businesses generously offer a discount or special service to cardholders, there is no charge for businesses to participate. Any business with a good reputation can join the Queensland Seniors Business Discount Card scheme.
Franchise outlets can register individually, however it may be advisable to check with your head office management before joining.
