Where you can use your Seniors Card

Your Queensland Seniors Card or Seniors Business Discount Card is accepted at thousands of business outlets throughout Queensland. You can also use your card at some businesses participating in the Seniors Business Discount Card schemes operated by other Australian states and territories.
A Business Discount Directory for Seniors and Carers for the region where you live will be mailed to you when you receive your card, and annually (unless you have indicated otherwise). The directory lists all the participating businesses in your region and the discounts they provide to card holders.
A more up to date list of participating businesses can be obtained by accessing the 'Search for a discount' online facility to find businesses that offer discounts to card holders. When the business lists its URL, you can link live to the business' website for more information.
Seniors Card and Seniors Business Discount Card are easy to use. Simply present your card at participating businesses to access their discount offer for Seniors. Please ensure you present your card before requesting a quote, negotiating a price, ordering goods and paying for a product or service.
Can I use my Queensland Seniors Card interstate?
From 1 January 2009, Premier Anna Bligh announced that the discount to allow concessions to Seniors Card holders using public transport services outside their home state will be honoured in Queensland on public transport across the State. The current Seniors discounts on Queensland's Traveltrain (long-distance train) services remains in place.
The new arrangements mean seniors travelling interstate can now access cheaper fares on local transport in their destination city.
For example a Victorian Seniors Card holder travelling to Brisbane will be able to access seniors' fares on public transport across the State.
In return Queensland Seniors who travel to interstate destinations will receive the local concession fares.
For more information you can visit the Premier's announcement. Please note that this concession does not apply to Seniors Business Discount Card holders.
In addition, many interstate businesses extend their discounts to Queensland card holders. To find out which interstate businesses recognise the Queensland Seniors Card, phone or write to the Seniors Card office in the state where you will be travelling and ask for a Seniors Card Business Discount Directory to be posted to you. These details are at the back of the Queensland Business Discount Directory for Seniors and Carers.
