Concessions made easy

(N.B. These concessions are only available to Seniors Card holders, not Senior Business Discount Card holders).
You can find out which businesses give discounts to Seniors Card and Seniors Business Discount Card holders through ‘Search for a discount’ online or by checking your Business Discount Directory for Seniors and Carers.
It is important that you advise the business that you have a Seniors Business Discount Card or Seniors Card to ensure you receive your discount. Make the salesperson aware that you are a card holder before –
- negotiating the price
- asking for a quotation
- ordering goods and/or services
- paying for goods and/or services.
Note that some discounts are not available on special items, sale items or at peak holiday times.
Queensland Government Concessions
Queensland Government concessions are available to eligible holders of a concession card such as seniors with a Seniors Card, people with a disability, carers, veterans, sole parents, widows and students. (N.B. These concesions are only available to Seniors Card holders, not Seniors Business Discount Card holders).
Concessions are designed to assist Queenslanders reduce the cost of regular household bills, access essential services and maintain a healthy active lifestyle.
Concessions made easy, is a brochure listing concessions offered by the Queensland Government on services such as ambulance, public transport, motor vehicle registration, council rates, health, recreation and education. Other concessions available include electricity rebate and life support concession schemes.
Recommending a business
If you know of a business in your area that might like to offer a discount or saving to Seniors Card and Seniors Business Discount Card scheme members, phone us on (07) 3224 8747 or email bizpartnerships@smartservice.qld.gov.au.
We will approach the business on your behalf to invite them to participate in the Seniors Business Discount Card scheme.
To acknowledge excellent service from a business
You can acknowledge good service by nominating your favourite business for a Business Excellence Award.
The business must be participating in the Seniors Business Discount Card scheme. Nominations can be made by –
- Downloading a nomination form
- Completing the nomination forms in your Business Discount Directory for Seniors and Carers
- Calling Card Services on (07) 3224 8747
- Emailing Card Services on bizpartnerships@smartservice.qld.gov.au
You can nominate different businesses as often as you like but you can only nominate each business once.
To provide feedback about a business
If you want to provide feedback on exceptional service or make a complaint about a participating business contact us on 13 13 04 or email bizpartnerships@smartservice.qld.gov.au. If necessary, we will follow up and advise you of the outcome.
