How to apply in three easy steps

Ready to take up the challenge and start working towards your Award? We’ve made applying easy – get ready for the adventure you’ve been looking for!

Step 1: Find a licensed operator

Check with your school or local youth group to see if they are a Licensed Operator of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award. If they are, you can get a Participant Application form from them and sign up straight away. If not, you can still participate.

Step 2: Sign up

If you have been unable to find a licensed operator, fill out the Participant Application form (PDF 165 kB) (RTF 203 kB) and return it along with the application fee (see below) to the State Award Office.

Step 3: Get ready for Dukes!

Once your application has been processed you will receive your Award record book from your award coordinator (the person who runs the Award at your school or organisation) or directly from the State Award Office. Then you’ve officially become a Dukes participant and are ready to take the first steps to completing your Award.

Cost

In Queensland you register once for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award and it currently costs only $37* (*includes GST).
This fee covers your insurance, record book, certificate and badge. Additional costs may be involved in your Award depending on the types of activities you choose to do. Some schools and organisations may charge for additional services, so make sure you check with your Award coordinator.

Organisations

If you want to get involved with Dukes you may be interested in becoming a licensed operator. A licensed operator is any group or organisation licensed by the Queensland Department of Communities to deliver The Duke of Edinburgh's Award and The Bridge Award.

To apply fill out the Licensed Operator Application form (PDF 192 kB) (RTF 338 kB) and return it along with the registration fee to the State Award Office.

If you would like to become involved in Dukes in other ways check out the volunteer information.
