Skills

This section aims to encourage development of personal interests and practical skills within a wide range of practical, cultural and social activities.

As a participant, you have three choices. You can either:

  1. continue and progress an interest in an activity such as fishing, stamp collecting or playing a musical instrument, or
  2. study a topic of personal interest such as fashion, relationships or money matters, or
  3. complete a definite task such as making simple pieces of furniture, building a boat or producing plays.

Choosing your activity

There are many activities that can qualify for the skills section such as:

Requirements

Bronze

Three months, averaging a commitment of at least one hour per week. If you choose to extend this section you will need to undertake your activity for a total of six months. #1

Silver

Six months, averaging a commitment of at least one hour per week. As a direct entrant, if you choose to extend this section you will need to undertake your activity for a total of 12 months. #2

Gold

12 months, averaging a commitment of at least one hour per week. As a direct entrant, if you choose to extend this section you will need to undertake your activity for a total of 18 months. #3
