Youth Week Competition 2008 winners
The winners of Queensland's Youth Week 2008 "Shout. Share. Live. Unite." online competition were Meaghan White, 20, of Helensvale; Azam Idris, 25, of St Lucia; Taicee Pearson, 13, of Gordonvale; and Lauren Edmonds, 14, of Nambour.
The standard of entries was incredibly high and the judges were faced with a tough decision choosing four winners out of over 130 entries in the gallery.
The successful entries were chosen because they expressed a genuine concern for community issues, as well as tremendous artistic flair.

ManiaMeaghan White was a winner in the senior category for her series of photos entitled 'Mania', portraying a struggle with the frustration of mental illness.

ConformAzam Idris won a prize in the senior category for highlighting the pressure on a young person to meet society's expectations through his digital artwork entitled 'Conform'.

Where the streets have no nameNambour teenager Lauren Edmonds was a winner in the junior category for calling on the community to help the homeless with her animation titled 'Where the streets have no name'.

TaiCTaicee Pearson was also a winner in the Junior category for producing a hip-hop song, 'TaiC' that speaks of her goals of graduating from school and getting ahead in life.
