Youth Week launch event

Young Queenslanders came together for the youth week launch to discuss the incredible contribution of our young volunteers. If you weren't able to attend, check out the videos of each discussion filmed and produced by Ehon Chan.

Alan Huynh, Ash Brosnan and Sarah Moran joined ABC broadcaster, Bernie Hobbs, on stage to talk about who benefits from volunteering, the mental health and wellbeing benefits of volunteering and creating a youth friendly volunteering environment. Watch The V Word: Volunteer to hear what Alan, Ash and Sarah had to say.

Following a lively performance by MC GLD and the Freshest Kidz, Alissa Phillips, Danielle Vujovich and Wesley Stubbings were welcomed to the stage by Bernie to continue the volunteering discussion.

This discussion covered the difference within city and regional areas for young people wanting to volunteer and how this has influenced their volunteering activities. In state as diverse as Queensland, young people face different challenges depending on the community they live in. Watch Volunteering Keeps Me Humble to hear Alissa, Danielle and Wesley's discussion.

The six volunteers then came together on stage to answer the audience's volunteering questions. Watch Volunteer Gen Y Style to find out about the Queensland Young Volunteer Awards, how volunteering can increase happiness and more.
